The Superlative of Lyricism

After the Rain

Like the dark stormy clouds,
I cry for you.
Like the ear splitting thunder,
My world shatters in two.
Like a break in the clouds,
You're a ray of hope to me.
Like the sun showing through,
You're the only light I see.
Like small drops of sunshine,
you trickle down.
Like the clearing sky,
You take away my frown.
Like the raindrops on petals,
I fall for you.
Like the butterfly that glides,
my sadness is through.
Like the golden rays of sun,
I feel you near.
Like the songs of the birds,
you're all I hear.
Like the clear blue sky,
You're all I see.
Like the colorful rainbow,
You still amaze me.
